I believe Sharon has the best chance ever of pulling it off. He has the most support from a US President on it Israel has ever had. State will have to come along, kicking and screaming. Hamas is a criminal gang, and as the leaders are eliminated, it will come apart...

Looks to me like an attempt to control an infestation of dandelions by plucking off the flowers.

Bless the bomb, die by Hellfire -- it's the latest iteration of six decades of tit for tat murder in Israel and Palestine.

All I see is one more tit, or one more tat, depending on how you look at it. The only thing I see Sharon "pulling off" here is six more decades of the same, and the only result the US support is likely to produce is a few more dead Americans to go with the dead Israelis and dead Palestinians.

It's all very well to tell others that those who live by the bomb will die by the bomb. It may not be a comforting thought on the day we realize that we, too, are living by the bomb.
