The tax reductions are working and as Bush has already stated the deficit does need to be paid down with congress reducing spending.

The total tax burden on the population today is enormous. I dont remember the exact figure but its something like 45% of gross income. I dont think thats too low, I think its DAMN HIGH. A lot of it has to do with people wanting the govt to do something FOR THEM. Here is one hell of a good example and I will name the place (much as I hate too as I love that place and may move there some day). My wife and I visited Delta, Colorado last summer looking to buy some property to ultimately move. I inspected that town inside and out, including interviewing the city manager, the CofC, and other officials. I visited the schools the parks YOU NAME IT I was there. I was TOTALLY IMPRESSED. They have a school and park system superior to where I live and I live in a very UPSCALE COMMUNITY. I says to the City manager, there is NO WAY you could afford all of this in this little town, who's paying for it. He said we have a very active community, the PEOPLE come together DONATE their time and THEY BUILT IT ALL with their own hands. Now THATS the way America used to be. jdn
