NY Stew,

That Levine patent sounds huge. It could be the TiVo death knell. It seems to me that TiVo is going to be cloned to death and their enforcement of the patent against DISH was key to their future business success. If the DISH cross-license kills that suit, I think TiVo, unless something drastic happens, is a walking carcus and just does not know it yet unless TiVo completely finds a way to revamp its business model. I don't think selling through Best Buy is going to compete with the Comcast and DISH can do through their distribution, and that leaves TiVo with over 1/2 of their subscriber gains coming through DirectTV, and that is about it.

Certainly Comcast will be free from any TiVo suits.

It is exciting to start seeing everything, finally, start coming together for GMST. Still not there, still real estate to build, still Madison Avenue to sell, still two-way interactivity and other new media methodologies to adopt, but it is all there in place. You can smell it, but it will still take years to take root, but should start to materially grow.
