Yep US energy demand and energy prices are going up because our economy is going into the crapper. But unfortunately industrial production shows we are moving out of the 90's techno bubble hangover thanks to GW's fine leadership.

The very fact of new, more aggressive initiatives is a good thing, and partially a result of the improvements in intelligence and native security forces I referred to. The fact that Al Sadr couldn't get a serious uprising going, and that he has balked over direct confrontation, and the similar propensity of the Fallujah insurgents to look for a way out is very promising.
