Hollywood is small fries compared to the large manufacturing and computer-related industries. I am no big fan of Hollywood but railing against them wouldn't make a dent in the problem. Going after the big fish would.

It's very simple, Canada offers incredible incentives for filming in Canada... the Canadian Federal government gives as much as 20% grants over the total budget just to film in Canada and use Canadian crews... then, there's the additional Provincial grants of 10% of the entire budget for the same reason... in other words, with up to 30% addition financing for shooting the same film in Canada, one would be nuts to film in the U.S.... some States are now offering some incentives, but they don't even come close to what Canada offers...

I should add that the editing and post-production facilities in Canada are the finest in the world, too bad the comparable studios in California have not kept up with the technology... maybe Arnie will do something to bring business incentives back to California, while kerry wants to remove them...
