I saw the 18,000 number also. what a waste. Especially
for the families of all of those involved....

They can lay it at the feet of George W. Bush - for attacking a country that never attacked the US.

I've seen it first hand. The numbers don't tell you much. But the messed up veterans addicted to pain killers and alcohol, some alienated from their families, those real life stories mean a lot. The irony is, many in the military are among the administration's staunchest supporters. Kind of like the many blue collar workers who now vote Republican. Rather like the chickens voting for Colonel Sanders. Bush's fraudulent war on Iraq is a national tragedy. We really won't know how to measure it for years to come.

It's pretty disgusting reading that some would want the gruesome pictures on TV for some political purpose. These are people with families.

Here's someone who knew one of those cowardly attacked and who eloquently makes it personal.

Ray, your post prompted me to go looking for more coverage on the medical evacuation issue, which I've been trying to follow for a while. The coverage is remarkably sparse, no doubt due to the usual "liberal media conspiracy" that W's suckups are perpetually whining about. There does seem to be one guy at UPI keeping tabs, though, see upi.com , and upi.com for some related stories.
