Silly, don't you know that for the international community, it is always Israel's fault?

My love, don't you understand that it is WE, the US, who permit the International community to endlessly flap their jaws about the problem, but never hold their feet to the fire with regard to actually resolving it.

At the very least, a US effort to create an international coalition would reveal that the European "emperor has no clothes" when it comes to REALLY caring about the Palestinians.

I see it as a win-win situation... At least the very effort of proposing and building support for such a NATO led operation would reveal this two-faced nature of the Euro elitists, while strengthening the perception throughout the region that the US is dead serious about being an advocate for democracy and human rights in the region. That would not go un-noticed on the so called "arab street" (of course the militants would have an issue with it).

And while Sharon and Netanyahu would probably side with your perspective, I think the average Israeli would also find a ray of hope that there is finally a potential end to the cycle of violence.

Israel doesn't need to destroy the PA, it's self-destructing already.

To be replaced by exactly what? I doubt it will be a moderate, even-tempered government willing to compromise.

Little different from my belief that Islamic militants were just biding their time in Iraq, awaiting the downfall of Saddam's regime.
