Joe, that is good news, especially as the part is an "AX" (not an "AR"), which implies it is a true Newcastle (DH7-CG), not a half-cache bad/disabled part.

Re: a new Athlon64 3400 is starting to appear on the shelves, this one has only 512K L2 but the clock speed is 2.4 GHz.

Looks like we have to re-calculate all those capacity estimates to account for the smaller die. Looks like binsplit speeds are continuing to increase, too.
