Liar.

Average price for motor fuel in 2000 was $1.47.

As of 3/29/2004, prices ranged from $1.64/gal. in the Gulf Coast states to $2.002 on the West Coast.

Click on "all grades"

Then click on Item 3 in the spreadsheet: all grades, areas and formulations, to pull up the data.

Jan. 10, 2000 - All grades, all formulations: $1.304/gal.

Mar. 29, 2004 - All grades, all formulations: $1.80/gal

An increase no doubt. But a "buck a gallon?" Get a life. Your hatred of Geo. W. Bush is palpable, and you will say anything, however untruthful, to support your candidate.

Edit: AS seems to forget there is a little entity named "OPEC" that has a considerable say in what we pay for fuel.
