You're right, of course. Yet the Bush administration has instituted "the gag rule" in third world health clinics so that circumstances of the sort I have described are happening every day. Suffering piled on suffering, suffering beyond imagining.

Then there are those desperate women who attempt to abort themselves with sticks or wires. Third world countries don't keep count of those deaths.

And in the United States of America people like Thomas Watson and ANTILIFE believe that a doctor should be forbidden to prescribe even the morning after pill, even for a rape victim, even for a rape victim who does not share their religious beliefs.

ANTILIFE and TW believe in state-enforced gestation by unwilling females of a zygote or an embryo until it becomes a human being inside them. That is not rhetoric or hyperbole, it is a literal fact. Zealotry can lead to madness.

In 1992, Roe v Wade almost fell. If Kennedy hadn't changed his mind at the last minute, it would have. IMO, it would be foolish to assume Roe v Wade will survive the next Bush administration.

And I believe there will be another Bush administration.
