Not if it's a zygote. Not if it's an embryo. And you don't, either, unless you think it makes sense to offer you fried chicken and serve you an egg, sunny side up.

I do if it's it's a six or seven month fetus.

The conversation about how hard it is to draw a line, and just how to do that in a rational society, is a true and sincere and complex and necessary one. Science would be involved, and neurologists who know about sentiency and consciousness would be involved. And women who want abortions would be involved. And definitely, absolutely definitely, one option would not be that any woman who doesn't believe in abortion would be forced to have one.

I've had that discussion on SI. I know the answer of the zealots: the instant the sperm meets the ovum, it's a "little baby." A blueprint is a house. An acorn is an oak tree. A trickle is the Grand Canyon. A potential anything is the thing itself. The first step is the last step... And all real life considerations are subordinated to that delusion. It's so simple!

No answer, no line, is perfect. ANTILIFE's answer, and line, is hideous, though.

But as I say, I've had this conversation on SI. More than once, more than twice. And the zealots remain zealots. No point, really.

'Night, all.
