6 or 7 months???

A few years ago, my sister lost a little boy. She was three months into her pregnancy. She had just seen the doctor. The fetus had a good heartbeat and everything seemed fine. She was scheduled for the first trimester ultrasound the following day. Unfortunately, the baby died. It strangled itself with its own umbilical cord overnight.

My sister was induced and gave birth to the stillborn the following day. At three months, the fetus wasn't a lump of cells. It was fully developed. A tiny little baby, about the size of my hand. My sister still has a picture of what would have been her third son. Maybe one day I'll post it for you to see.

Many years ago, it was unthinkable for a seven month old fetus to survive outside the womb. Who's to say that a few years from now we might not be saying the same about a three month old fetus?

I realize that for most people it isn't an easy decision to make. Circumstances at times make us do things which aren't always right. What I find objectionable is those who use abortion as a contraceptive, with total disregard for the baby they carry within.
