Kerry supported a decision to authorize force, if necessary. Senators don't order troops into another country. Presidents do that.

Once troops are on the ground you have to support the effort, at least for the troops sake. Unlike Bush, Kerry has fought for vets and servicemen for 20 years. He trulky deeply cares about the troops.

Once the major invasion was over, Kerry came out hammering Bush on faulty policy and called fro a regime change in DC. The rightwing attacked him for saying that but it turned out he was right.
