Ted,

In many ways this is worse than Vietnam. At least there we were at war, attacking and being attacked by an enemy. Here our military is more like police, and when they venture out of the "green zone(s)" they are being picked off. I really wonder about the morale of the troops.

One of the lessons from Vietnam was that there would always be a very well defined military objective, and once that objective was accomplished, the troops came home. This is the antithesis of that learning. Ane that's why (my perception) many of the people that are strongly against this occupation are folks that are old enough to clearly remember Vietnam as an issue.

BTW, I don't see any Democrats hollering bloody murder about Iraq. So far I think Dean has been the only one with the balls to get in Bush's face, and he's backed off to clear the stage for Kerry. They are all very quiet, Kerry included. What's up with that?
