I don't disagree with you on all counts. The Conservative Party of Canada certainly has drifted farther right than the Progressive Conservative Party.

With folks like Stephen Harper, Tom Flanagan and the rest of their small, ironically elitist (shun the voice of the grassroots) group, you can be sure that the CP will continue to drift rightward while attempting to paint a picture for the electorate of a more centrist view -- that will not be wholly accurate.

I still maintain that Harper's achilles heel is that the Liberals will very successfully be able to paint the CPC / Harper as being willing to send our troops to Iraq, where Chretien / Liberals chose not to.

Given the strong public opinion on this subject, and the current state of controversy over the Iraq war, I can't see how the Liberals could fail to make this one of their leading issues.

The Liberals can do it without "dissing" our US Allies, and that too will be seen as a coup and further distance from Chretien.

My two cents.
Long time conservative.

A liberal presenting a link to a liberal muckraking website...one that is endorsed by the likes of James Carville...is a pretty weak attempt to distortion. Nice try, but anyone over 8 years of age wouldn't bite....
