Hello El Matador,
Take a walk around Toronto. Now Caucasians are 49% of the city's population. Stroll down the streets and it looks like the United Nations; people from everywhere have come here.
There is racism in Canada as in everywhere, but it is weaker here. Kids in the kindergartens play happily with each other. I wish everything else in Canada were as well managed as the kindergartens. If you know the US well and expect Canada to be the same kind of place you would be surprised at the lack of jingoism here. Most people don't know the words of the national anthem. Modesty rules; there is great willingness from all sides to admit, even declare, Canada's inferiority at this or that. The rich are in charge as elsewhere, but all in all, it's not a bad place to invest.

elmat, there are a lot of Chinese students, after got a master/Ph.D. degree here in the US, went to Canada. Because Canada has a much easier immigration rule for people who hold advanced degree, unlike the US, where the permanent residence is not easy to get.

and in terms of "Canadians' sensitivity of the amount of immigrants of Asian origin", by comparison, it is not quite as high as in the US.

I went to Toronto only once, for only 3 days, I got a very good impression. Comparing with big US cities like NYC, Detroit, LA... it appears to be much more tolerated for all kinds of skin colors<g>
