Forgot about VCs. Excellent point. Nowhere else in the world are there as many or as good ones as SV.

There is a perception that CA is inherently liberal now and forever. Has everyone forgotten that Ronnie Reagan was guv of CA? That Pete Wilson, a Republican, was guv before Gray Davis?

Yeah, there are lots of liberals. There are lots of liberals around colleges and this state has lots of them. That's part of the state's secret: hatcheries for technical and managerial talent.

Anybody who thinks the population of CA is stupid is ignorant.

Thanks Kevin,

That was kinda smart if a tad provincial. Silicon Valley used to produce some of the best sweet corn in nation. And cherries. But now, what does it produce besides escapees? Better surveillance software? More illusory computer graphics for the unreality of our movie entertainments? More Orwellian compliance tools? Has our technology turned on us and made us prisoners to technology itself?
