I think you win this one. Even I will agree that Clarke likely told two truths.

But so what are two truths among hundreds of lies.

For me, the second of these, the comparison between the millenium work and the summer of 01 is a critical difference. I've checked forward in the Coll book and he has a slightly different rendition of the summer of 01. I'm only in 1998 so I'll wait to read it carefully until later. He might also have a different read of the millenium preps.

As for the "hundreds of lies", you guys are just reiterating the Bush attempt to stay away from the issues. And amplifying it. They don't wish to address the issues so they get vicious on the attack side.

It depends on your objectives.

If your objective is to understand what happened and learn from it, then knowing two things for sure that you didn't know before or that were murky before is an important asset. Sure, there may be a dozen other things or a thousand other things that you don't know, but you know two.

If your objective OTOH is to pass judgment on Clarke, then knowing two things is not of much use given that a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Personally, I care about the first one. Whatever Clarke or anyone else brings to the table in that arena is a plus.
