They made a strange decrease in AMD's Q4 forecasted earnings... I wonder if that's a typo.

Analyst lowers Intel forecast amid slow 90-nm ramp

I am not registered on that site, but my guess is garbage in, garbage out.

As if there was anything about 90nm that would determine Intel profitability. Intel has plentiful capacity in either 130nm or 90nm, there isn't that much of a difference where the product comes from. Faster ramp may actually in short run lower profitability as the expensive 90nm fabs need to start depreciation.

Intel is going to be making money mainly as a function of overall demand, ability to maintain high ASPs, and capabilities of the competitors. 90nm ramp, and its influence on profitability is way behind these big ones.

Joe
