Because slang is not “black” to me, just as French and English are not “white.”

"Slang" isn't black? Well, it isn't unless it's black slang. French slang, for example, isn't black, unless it's a mixed patois of some sort. And black slang isn't necessarily racist, but is merely slang -- unless it's used in a mocking, racist manner. See examples of racist slang below.

You have just been outed, sir. No loving father of a black child would have written those racist posts distorting and mocking the language-culture of so many people who have black "feature sets" (you ludicrous parody of a scholar), not in a million years. If you do indeed have a black son, I pity him, because you neither love the boy nor respect him.

I knew yesterday that you were a liar on the abortion issue, and Poet has just proved it on this one. Echhhh.

My church be doin some aMAYzin’ mess in da hood right friggin’ nah!... He be makin' me sked and stuff. Fokes that do dat kinda mess is some dangious fokes... Hey. I nevah even HURD of no dang Baldur. I don't even be knowing what a dang Baldur is. Baldur? I think dass a mountain somewhere, maybe in Russia or somethin'.... I don't know nothing 'bout no dang Baldur no how! (grin)...."Dang! Cain't even have a liddle friggin' fun without fokes whinin' to Marse Bob!" --Johannes Pilch

You're so ridiculous I should just let you hang there twisting, twisting in the wind, but I guess I'll point a few things out in case there's anyone, even one single person, who read this and believed it was as you claim, “slang that is not black to [you]”.

(BTW, I’ll go along with your misuse of the word slang, but dialect is correct for the parody you have created.)

Message 19993303

You write,

You actually look upon people of a different “race” and then assume that certain sounds are innately attached to them. You just assume this, when in fact they may embrace “perfect” English as a native language. You really are racist, E.

That’s a perfect display of Pilch dishonesty. Because I didn’t say or imply anything remotely like that language was “innate,” or that many black people don’t “embrace ‘perfect’ English as a native language.”

You made it up, Pilch.

What I said, was this:

No loving father of a black child would have written those racist posts distorting and mocking the language-culture of so many people who have black "feature sets" (you ludicrous parody of a scholar)…

In public, Pilch, do you speak to, or in front of, your purported black son in that distorted parody of a black-American dialect? As in, "Dang, you whinin' to Marse? Dem po fokes spittin’ out dem babies ain wastin’ my money.…you DEFINEY be saying stupid mess every time you open yo mouf.” ?

Do you do it, for example, when you are together at church functions? Does he find this practice joyfully playful? Do your fellow church members, hearing the white adoptive father speak so to his black son, find it joyful and playful? Does it get big laughs?

Does your black son indulge in that parody dialect, too, among your white friends?

What a dirty piece of work you are.

...And you dare, you sadist, to say the words below to a mother who speaks of the sense of loss and confusion her Asian daughter feels as she grows up and becomes aware that in her Connecticut suburb she is in physical ways ‘different’ from her white family--and that somewhere in the world she must have a biological family, a mother, perhaps brothers and sisters, whom she will never know?

From Pilch to Poet: You are the racist. You truly are. That is exactly why your daughter has suffered. You were unwilling to crawl into her space and learn about jab chae as a fresh gift to you both. And she always felt the sting, the crushing sting, of being separated from everyone, you in particular. She still feels it.

You have an ugly mind, Mr. Pilch.. Those words were designed solely to cause a mother pain over her daughter’s teen aged sadness--to persuade her those tears were her fault. You are truly a monster! And and I sincerely hope that you do not really have the eight children, including the black son (yassah boss, yassah, Marse Pilch, an yo say he am he am de top male chile’?!), whom you claim.

This is what Poet, who actually is an adoptive parent, did, for her daughter. She has written about this on SI, btw:

When her daughter was ready, her parents worked with her through the orphanage to locate her biological family in Korea. The search was successful and the two families established contact. Poet then sent her daughter to Korea, a visit which was a joyful and deep and revelatory experience, for her. Poet’s daughter now knows, to her benefit, both her adoptive family and her biological family, including brothers and sisters she might never have known she had.

Poet has done all a mother could for her child, and nothing to justify your hateful, gloating words.
