What can you expect of something that is the opiate of the masses? Of course it's even more dangerous when it is acting like coke instead of an opiate.

I completely agree with you, though. People want the easy way to everything- and movies are certainly an easy way to get your religion. Of course it's a silly way to get it too- a shorthand, that loses all the nuance, and gives you only one flawed man's vision of something that is terribly complex. But I doubt many people are going to worry about that.

Fox News comes to mind. But the other networks are fast joining the circus ring, as well.
