I wonder if you know what you are talking about. I can tell you from first hand knowledge the average Viet Cong just wanted to be LEFT ALONE by both sides. There were fanatic infiltrators from the North that wanted to unite Vietnam but the cadre of Viet Cong were nothing more then peasants that were FORCED into the fight by the above mentioned persons. Of course the same is true of most of the S.Vietnamese Army. When Vietnam was divided after WWII the Catholics all streamed to the south and the Buddists to the North. Both were on average happy with their situation. Politicians on both sides but particularly the North wanted the reunification. jdn
