That is one of the most amazing things I have ever read.

When will the American people wake up?

I happen to like Condi Rice and I think she brings a lot to the table. Especially in contrast to those political bozos on the commission who are trying to get face time on the back of a national tragedy.

But I do have a problem with Rice.

Yesterday she revealed herself to be a classic bureaucrat: if it's not in the report, it shouldn't be acted upon; if the report is labelled a memorandum, it is not a 'plan'; if the FBI has responsibility to act, it's not my job; if Clarke was assigned a new task, he had no authority to poke around in this one.

The way bureaucrats solve problems is to create committees, have meetings, write reports and reorganize their staffs. Such bureaucrats are in large supply in academia and government. And in Bush's White House. The Department of Homeland Security is no doubt a mega-bureaucrat solution to the fact that the CIA and FBI don't share their intelligence.

My profound disappointment with this administration is their propensity to bureaucratically grow government at every opportunity. This not only adds to the deficit, but results in a less effective action, especially in crisis.

However, none of this means I think 911 could have been prevented, or that anything will come of this so-called investigation. It's just the way it is.

It's all corporate-speak.
They "passed her the fail".
And she doesn't know it. Colin is giving her the "I-told-you-so".
Rummy & Cheney must be laughing!
Freeh must be laughing.
The Eagle Scouts will finish her off at the next public hearings.

SO she is, as predicted, the first one left swinging in the wind. It was sad when she proudly recited the name of the PDB briefing to Ben-Venista. So intent on showing the Man her mastery of facts, she never noticed the bell ringing her own countdown. So tickled about explaining what was in the pResident's mind when he spoke of fly swatting she missed Sen. Kerry's point.

But she got her atta boy from
Bush who is on the lamb, at the ranch.
