The Chinese have been using methane generated from home soil-water and garbage to provide cooking and heating gas for many centuries.
The systems I work with are scaleable down to a 100-head dairy, but I don't work in the 'home' market as my background is heavy industrial.

Why doesn't it surprise me that you make a living off cow manure?

LOL!

Considering how many people are going to be showing they are mentally retarded by actually voting for john f'ing kerry, do you really want the general public looking into home grown crap cooking. Now it is not rocket science, but it is science and the public in general are science and technology ignoramuses.

If you really want a clean environment build nuclear reactors and drill and drill and drill.

Thanks for overview. While urban dwellers may not think of it much, people in rural areas by necessity try to be more pragmatic and less dependent on infrastructure than their counterparts in the city. It is also easy to see that a disruption of service in a rural area might not receive as prompt attention as the same problem would in a more populated area. Personally, I find the idea of a greater level of self-reliance attractive.
