OTOH the other post I made and Sofa responded to will surely give pause to many a Liberal supporter... The current situation cannot be blamed on Chretien.. and Martin's now all to familiar refrain of Things will be different now is getting tired already... This may turn out to be at least an exciting election for a change after all.

What Harper might have wanted at the time is not what he would get as Prime Minister. Unfortunately we have had years of Chretien dictatorship so we automatically assume that Harper would be able to act as a dictator.
