You are simply not paying attention and are not aware of the facts that lead to these conclusions.

PAY ATTENTION!

Here's what's stupid, Vitas:

1) The president receives an intelligence briefing entitled Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States.

2) Not knowing the specifics of the threat, like where and when, holding together a longterm nationwide alert might be a bit much. However, New York's World Trade Center had been attacked before and Wall Street certainly could be considered a natural target. Given the nature of Washington, I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to conclude that Washington also offers several potential targets for Al Qaeda.

So at a bare minimum, at the very least, in all prudence, once Bush saw that August 6, 2001 briefing, he should have ordered that interceptor jets located close to New York and Washington be on a very, very high state of alert. If you think about it, this would have been a prudent general policy even without the existence of the intelligence briefing.

The president failed to do this. He was stupid. The jets that were finally launched to intercept the hijackers were from far away locations and they flew toward the hijacked planes at only one third of their speed potential.

I remind you that it wasn't Clinton who failed to do this. It was Bush who failed to do this. Bush is a stupid president! And you know what? You know it!!!
