Yes John, when the British colonialized the world, they went around saying that their colonies were being uplifted because of their presence. If that were so, then why do you think the British are still not in those colonies?

People in general want freedom first. They want one from their own tribe to be at the helm not someone who is a foreign occupant. It gives them a national feeling of pride and most of all a true sense of freedom. I think if there is one nation in the world that understands that, it is us Americans. So to me "rebuilding Iraq" is a bunch of balloney that our Government put out. With their oil, the Iraqis are very capable of rebuilding themselves. Just get Mr. Chalabi out of there.
