Not if you tie options to salary, like our startup does, rather than to the cyclical nature of the economy. It's "how" it's done. On another note, was talking to my Dad about business the other day (my Dad and I have always connected strongly on topics of the economy and business, an interest we've always mutually shared), and it sure felt good to talk business with him again. ( During his recovery, and given this economic downturn, I figured it was best to avoid the topic of the economy!) So it felt great to be discussing interesting business topics once again with my Dad after more than a year since his illness. My Dad is such an interesting, charismatic story teller too.
