<Don't tell me, let me guess....> Don't tell me, let me guess... what Iraq needs is an Isreali style occupation until every last man, woman and child is immobilized under the grinding heel of the US military.

Don't tell me, let me guess....what Iraq really needs is a Hashemite restoration?

It is one possible solution, one which I discussed last spring.

A constitutional monarchy would meet many of the requirements for democratic reform and transition. And Sharif Bin Ali seems to be able to win considerable respect from many disparate Iraqi groups, including Kurds.. Additionally, he commands respect from the various tribal leaders.

Granted, it's not the optimal solution, but it certainly is plan B.. It will be up to the Iraqi people, and Sharif Bin Ali's ability to win their confidence.

It certainly would make for an interesting rivalry between the Saudis and Hashemites.
