The irony lies in your negative interpretation(ad hominem attacks) of anything said by someone with whom you disagree.

Funny... I've never seen you stick up for me in the face of numerous ad hominem attacks I've suffered on this thread..

And besides... exactly how is it that my merely pointing out that Nixon being a quaker is somehow an ad hominem attack against Jacob?

He's the one that volunteered that he's taking some form of utterly pacifistic tract in his life.. All I did was point out that not all Quakers are pacifists, nor are they all liberals.

That's an attack?

Personally, I don't have a problem with someone being a pacifist, or a conscientious objector.. At least they stand for something that they truly believe in.

But that doesn't mean that I have to accept it. I have to live in the real world, full of very bad people with socio-pathic predispositions and megalomaniacal delusions of their personal destinies. Pacifists are able to exist and have a political say because others have protected them and their right to do so.

But they should never claim to believe that they have some kind of monopoly on the truth, or that those who understand that freedom has cost are somehow socially deranged and morally destitute.
