Jacob did. Your response was to couple Nixon to Jacob via their beliefs. That can be construed as a kick in the rear. As for the ad hominem attack method itself, why don't you point out to your attackers that they should try to keep to the subject and refuse to go after the person. That would go a long way towards improving the tone on this thread. "But they should never claim to believe that they have some kind of monopoly on the truth, or that those who understand that freedom has cost are somehow socially deranged and morally destitute." The pacifists I know neither consider themselves to have a monopoly on the truth nor consider non-pacifists to be socially deranged and morally destitute.
