re.PBS & Juan Cole

In no way am I denying that PBS (along with most of the institutions of this nation) has had a lurch to the right. As for Juan Cole, read his stuff, and judge him on his merits.

Who is Juan Cole?

For an agent of the right wing NPR, he had some pretty devastating comments about Wolfowitz and crew last night. They "are not stupid, but extremely ignorant", and then he proved this with several references to an interview last year on NPR where Wolfie, for example, stated that the Shiites were secular and would be more receptive to America than the Saudis. Cole traced Bush's understanding of Shiite Iraq to the mainly pre-1958 memories of Chalabi.

No mention of whether Chalabi and Neil Bush ever got together to swap banking "secrets" though...
