Bill, the REASON they are going in together was NEGOTIATED so Bush knows it very well, why he wouldnt tell the audience is beyond me as it makes perfect sense. The reason is because he does NOT want this to appear to be a Commission grilling the President or the Vice President (both of whom are not required to do this under the seperation of powers doctrine) but rather to appear to be a conversation between the two leaders and the commission. I know to most of us it seems a mute point but some legal eagle probably dreamed it up. In any event the Commission is not unhappy, they got what they want and Bush got what he wants. jdn
