Re: polite people shut up as intelligence is associated with shyness,

LOL! That is truly mad. Intelligence is associated with megalomania, self-promotion, boasting, aggressiveness and lots of other things. Shyness is not one of them.

Shyness and intelligence are simply not correlated in the real world. Only your fantasy world, Iqbal.

Iqbal:

I concede that Carl really blows his top. And also his trumpet. That does not take away his originality, and his meticulous research.

Some original predictions that I would credit Carl:

- The guerilla resistance will grow.
- It takes a few months for the resistance to organize.
- That Turkey will try to keep out of the war.
- That the resistance could come from both Sunni and Shia quarters.
- That it will be very difficult to win the hearts and minds of Iraqis.
- that more soldiers will be needed in iraq.

Now that does not take away your argument that a silent majority of Iraqis may have preferred US to Saddam. Or that in theory, now partly disproven, the removal of Saddam could bring about a flowering of democracy in Iraq and the middle east.

But due to the resistance and the US reaction, it seems that the sentiment is shifting against the US.

>motives of war that is freedom form shackles of terrorism.>

That mystery is slowly clearing up. It just seems that Bush's style of working is to ignore all evidence when his mind is made up. Whether his mind was made up by Dick Cheny or divine inspiration we don't know. But a small group of people at the top hijacked all the resources of USA and the goodwill of the world to squander it on Iraq.(the bigger tragedy is that so many people in the political sphere, media, and government allowed that to happen). Also put the credibility of a great nation and its good people in jeopardy.

Or maybe I am only seeing the negative. Maybe Iraq will continue to be a mess but US will keep control of the oil and have its military bases to stabilize surrounding nations.

-Arun

Wow, thanks for those links. I'm guessing we won't get apologies from the people who criticized Bilow at the time:
