The trouble is that there are tons of these sort of articles showing up, and for all practical purposes, they could have been authored by the same person. Some of the most glaring similarities: None of them make any reference whatsoever to the urgent reports sent to Washington by friendly foreign intelligence agencies. None of them make any reference to the Arizona FBI field reports of terrorists taking flying lessons. None of them make any reference to whistle blowers such as Colleen Rowley, who disclosed most of this stuff nearly 2 years ago. All of them make references to outdated computer systems as if the kind of police work conducted against crime organizations in the 30s was impossible without the latest release from Intel and Microsoft. All of them attempt to patch together a picture of incompetence by the largest, best funded, most feared intelligence agencies in the world - ours. All of them attempt to create an impression the August 6 PDB, which has been common knowledge to independent researchers for over a year, is a major revelation, contains new information, and all while ignoring the fact there was only a page and a quarter of an 11 page document released. All of them attempt to create an impression that somehow Bush is totally blameless, but somehow it's either Clinton's fault, the CIA's fault, or the FBI's fault - all the while ignoring the fact that if the President of the United States ordered a top priority investigation into all the warnings coming in, there would have been no 9/11. And the finest piece of misdirection of all is the fact that a positive connection to al Qaida has never been proven. Not a single piece of credible physical evidence has ever been released to the public which would establish beyond a reasonable doubt the true identities of any of the hijackers.

The FBI and three congressional panels are investigating Riggs' 20-year role as chief banker for the Saudi Arabian embassy in Washington. Several bank executives, including chairman Robert Allbritton were notified that they could be individually sanctioned, the Post said, citing unnamed sources.
