Amazing how debates about the Middle East always go on endlessly, make everyone mad, rarely produce any consensus and always start again later from scratch, as is nothing had ever been discussed before.

Makes the Balkans look like a peaceful, reasonable, easily solved region of conflict.

The irony, IMHO, is no one expressing so much anger about the other side's point of view in the ME seems to recognize how their postures mirror the actual combatants there, with similar results.

Thank goodness this is only a virtual forum. But the parallel strikes me as very strong.

This thread has now seen hundreds of posts on ME issues with little or nothing accomplished among the participants. Just more hate and anger, from all appearances.

The settlements (IMO) should be removed (most of them), since most are the home of the fanatics on the Israeli side.
But on the other hand if there is a terror attack after a pull back (and since many Muslim fanatics don't want to see any Jewish state - it will happened IMO), what Israel should do then???????????
I think most people on both sides want peace, since this area can prosper economically and make every one very happy (yes money talk. -g-).
The problem is (IMO again), is the fanatics on both sides and old stubborn leaders on both sides.
Can we change that???????????
Oh and about land, another prospective (not that it makes any different):
