The main thing holding up peace in the region are security concerns.

Wrong. The peace process is held up by the refusal of Israel's mainstream to accept a compromise.

How can Arafat and the Palestinians achieve peace when certain radical Palestinians insist on their own agenda?

Don't be so stupid. As long as the radical Jewish settlers continue their violence, backed by the equally violent Israeli military, Palestinians don't have peace. Yet, they continue to offer a compromise.

There are powerful political blocs in the Israeli government that operate on the platform of ethnically cleansing Arabs from Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza. Ariel Sharon could not even bring himself to say the words "West Bank" during his recent visit to Bush. Israel still wants to steal more land from the Palestinians. That's the problem.
