"I predict more problems in 2004 in Florida. It's more like a KKK carnival than an election."

I don't have the details available, and the link I posted is not the best, but I recall that there were numerous irregularities with voting in the Florida 2002 primary. The problems occurred in Miami and Broward Counties, both of which were counties in which Janet Reno appearently had strong support. Reno contended at the time that voters who would have voted for her were precluded from doing so.

I recall that at the time there was talk that the problems were caused by Democrats, who believed that McBride stood a better chance of defeating Jeb Bush in the general election, and that a primary win for the Democrats would result in a sure Bush victory in the general.

I have no idea if this is true or not.

I agree with you that Florida seems to have more than its share of problems.

FWIW, I voted with punch card ballots for years, and never had any trouble understanding who or what I was voting for. Not sure why all these people seem to have trouble figuring out a relatively straighforward way of voting.
