The message I want to see sent is "screw you... we're moving back, taking some defensible territory and we're building a wall and never letting you "bastards" in again.. And if you choose to attack us in the future, your entire country is a "free-fire zone".. The future is now completely in your hands, but we're not going to sit back and take your aggression sitting down.

That's pretty much the message I would like to send.

Be happy then. That is the message that Sharon will send. Whether the Israelis keep Hebron or not, how much difference will it make? They will evacuate the small settlements dotted over the landscape, move the border to include the big ones, and send that message. The Pals will blow a gasket anyway; you think they would accept the plan any better if only the Israelis evacuated Ariel and Hebron? Message: you don't negotiate, we decide what to keep.

Hawk, if a second Palestinian state does come into being, it assumes peace with the Israeli, right. Then, why not leave the settlements where they are, give the settlers a choice, move back to Israel, or become a "Second Palestine" citizen. After all there are almost a million or so Arabs that are citizen of Israel, rational thinking would go to say if the Jewish settlers are forced to move into Israel, then the Arabs within Israel, maybe, should be moved to that second Palestine? What is that "defensible", there is peace and not need to defend the Jews that happen to want to live in Qiryat Arba and Hevron (which they did till 1929, and actually a lot of them till 1948), Gush Etzion was taken by Jordan in 48 as well and so on and so on...
