I hope that all Islamic forces in Iraq don't band together and attack our men there. I think Bush has left them at risk because there is no plan in place. If other countries are pulling out their forces it could mean they see something that our Commanders are forbidden to talk about.

Don't you just love how they cut the VA benefits right when they were sending men out into a war zone? How can those people sleep at night knowing they have ruined the lives of so many people?

American Spirit, one thing you might want to consider is that very dogmatic people, once in charge, ALWAYS get rid of the mavericks and replace them with plodding, "go along" bureaucrats.

In the military it's difficult to find ANYONE willing to walk a different path. Their heads are usually pulled in like turtles. Ie. see Powell.

When people like Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz took over the running of the military it was doomed to get even worse. They fired generals and moved their "yes men" into positions of power. The rest of the military sat up straight and took notice. There will be no one to say "give me more men" or "give me a mission that's doable" unless they're told it's ok to say that.

That's why bureaucrats should never be made to totally answer to dogmatic men with blinders on. The ship never turns.

Of course we do get to make changes every four years. Maybe the next guy will hire some thinkers back if they haven't gotten too comfortable in their retirement.
