Important: New pre-opening feature here on NRS:

News story or stories that are most likely to influence the market's opening direction. Per prior post, todays story is:

Message 20055679

FWIW, I've always found news of a general AWA sector and stock specific nature very important.

1. It's directly informs us with facts that can flesh out the larger picture of the specific area covered.

2. The market's reaction (again whether we're speaking of the broad market, a sector or an individual stock) almost always more clearly defines the strength or weakness in that market for us.

As time passes, be interested in hearing from U folks about whether this little AM addition to my posting here on the NRS thread is useful to you.

All the best,

Isopatch

isopatch,
A very nice feature to add to the thread!

My own view on the durable orders news is somewhat basic, as I am concentrating on the 3D world the next week or three, both playing catchup on chores and having some fun.

But here it is. Good news on the durable orders is balanced against the expected increase in interest rates.
Once again we see the TNX heading for your line in the sand of 4.5%:

So we are heading for the point where we find out if the economy can take an interest rate hike or not. Much of the volatility now seems to me to be caused by these "trial balloon" type of comments and gov't figures, which are a way of trying to find that out.

JMVHO...
Best,
