Liberals like Kristoff are waking up to the fact that they have a problem.

In another time and on another thread, I made a similar point--comparing the treatment of those two disparaged groups. I recall vividly the reaction of Christians who were in incensed about being put in the same boat with gays for any reason, however well intentioned. Kristoff's argument is clearly designed to appeal to those on the liberal side of the disparate treatment.

In this day and age, if certain people are intolerant of homosexuality, they are not going to change, is my opinion. And allowing homosexual marriages isn't going to change that, it would be no more significant to them than if the state allowed your pets to marry.

There is a Gay/Lesbian church down the street from my home. It has as members of its congregation: blacks, Hispanics, straight couples and welcomes everyone of any religion or sexual orientation. I have gone there for the Wednesday night dinners which are very good for five buck a throw. It is a friendly, welcoming place where the general seems to be acceptance, tolerance and friendliness.

This church is very Evangelical. It is very very Christian.
I would say that more of the 250 more more worshipers there are not liberals, not democrats but God fearing and loving human beings. Therefore when I read about lumping everyone into one pot I become disturbed in that amongst every group there are all kinds of people. I would call this church conservative Christian men and women.

I think there are gays in the REPUBLICAN PARTY too.
