I was thinking of getting a really big CF card, but before I could get to the store, the debate on this thread addressed the dangers of putting all my eggs in one basket. I've held the opinion for quite some time that when a professional expresses an opinion, it's usually a good idea to listen. If something should go wrong with a CF card, like losing it, or stepping on it, or you catch the eye of the CF gremlins, the smaller the card, the less work you'll lose. Carrying multiple cards and swapping them is a small price to pay for the added security.

Thank-you for pointing us in a better direction -- again.

Cheers, PW.

Wondering whether pros are shelling out 3 or 4 grand for a multi-gig CF

How about $10k for 12GB? You game? (VBG)

"...the 12GB card is predicted to be shipping in the second half of 2004 at a cost of $9999 ($833.25 per GB)."

Putting the price into perspective the above cost/gig is almost what one pays for the 1TB LaCie Bigger Disk. Geez, should I get 1GB or 1TB for the same bucks. Decisions, decisions. (G)

I simply have not a clue as to the target market for these huge cards, at these prices.
