Why cant you at least follow the news? Frankly it is the Bush administration that is opposing reinstating the draft. The Dems are mouthing it so as to attempt to make the Bush admin look bad. Frankly, I dont think its going to happen, but if it were to happen it would be GOOD for the draftees and BAD for the service. In my day the draft was in effect. I never met a single person that didnt BENEFIT from going into the service. In my case I ENLISTED in the USMC as I was into the hero worship thing, but as I rode a troop train to Pariss Island I noticed that many of the "recruits" had NEVER been outside of a city. I remember as we passed through the countryside some got SO EXCITED just to see a REAL LIVE COW!! I went in as a 137 pound nothing, and came out 160 pounds of pure muscle. I went in as a gentlemanly C student and after the USMC went to college and graduated FIRST IN MY CLASS with TWO MAJORS, one in Accounting and one in Economics. Its called DISCIPLINE. jdn

I am glad the military was good for you. I am less concerned with the draft than I am about Americans getting the message as to exactly who Bush is and what he's gotten us into. That was the point of my post.

Bush 2004 = Draft 2005. As simple as that. Mark my words.
