Why should I pay for this business owner's negligence of following through on adequate safety procedure?

Wouldn't you agree that there's a bit of difference between negligence and murder? That was the point being made.

Where I grew up, careless gun-owners killed more of their own friends in the woods and fields by mistake, than did animals. What's amazing is the number of drunk gun-owners who murder hikers because the hiker's "bright orange jacket looked like a deer." And they would essentially get away with it too through light sentences, similar to drunk drivers, rapists, and the like.

Come now, a tad bit of hyperbole here?? :)
