"So this war is being fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, not in Chicago or the streets of NYC. It was our choice to do that, rather than let terrorists grab another airliner and have to shoot it down over one of our cites."

How does the war in Iraq prevent a terrorist from grabbing an airliner in the US?

"Iraq dramatically strengthened their recruitment efforts," one counterterrorism official said. He added that some mosques now display photos of American soldiers fighting in Iraq alongside bloody scenes of bombed out Iraqi neighborhoods. Detecting actual recruitments is almost impossible, he said, because it is typically done face to face.

Hi Sig; Re: "Sometimes I wonder whether you get a true picture of what is happening in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Why are you lumping Afghanistan in with Iraq? I supported the intervention in Afghanistan. As far as my understanding being a "true picture", you should be worrying more about yourself. You've been sadly and repeatedly wrong about how this war would work out.

Before the war, I was telling you that the occupation would force us out, and that it would be 6 to 18 months before the occupation got into full swing.

Re: "You complain about the killing, them and us- which implies you prefer to eliminate our Military. And not even Kerry is foolish enough to propose doing that."

With logic like this, it's pretty clear why you're so wrong headed on Iraq, LOL. What a joke! I bet that when you go target shooting you put the targets down at the end of the bench, LOL.

Re: "All together the last three wars have cost the US less than 1000 casualties -and that is not good enough for you?"

Like I said before, Iraq is only now beginning to warm up. When it gets going at a full boil, we will either have retreated from the place (perhaps up to the Kurdish areas) or we will be taking the same level of casualties we took in Vietnam, the war you conveniently omit when you restrict your limited vision to "the last three wars".
