Past behavior that is 30 years old is not as important as how one addresses the issues of the day.

When Slick was a draft dodger the left did not care. Now it is an issue that Kerry first served - but they forget that he then dis served. Anyone who grew up in that era knows it was tumultous - and today is not then.

Is big government or smaller government better.

Do lower taxes grow the economy?

Is Tort law out of control?

Is international trade good or bad?

How do we best provide health care?

How do we best educate our young?

How do preserve some basic moral standards in society?

These are the issues of today. As far as I am concerned it is obvious that Bush used legal means to dodge the draft. It is also obvious that after serving Kerry gave aid and encouragement to the enemy.

Which one was worse? What difference does it make today? Why does Kerry wear Vietnam service as a red badge of courgage - all it does is attract attention to the following actions which many consider traitorous.

If this election is argued over Vietnam it is a national disaster.
