Three wins out of four is almost as good as three in a row, right? Congrats, anyway.

Five guys rushed through my front door this morning and started tearing the house apart. Well, not the whole house, but they took most of the carpet and floor tiles out. Now the place sounds like an echo chamber 'cuz there's nothing to absorb the sound. Unfortunately, the wood flooring won't arrive until tomorrow (a mix-up discovered late this morning), so the house will look like a war zone for a little while longer.

I think that the worst part of remodeling isn't the problem of dealing with unusable rooms, but of trying to decide what materials and designs to use in the first place. Our kitchen resurfacing plans are on hold now due to that very issue, that we haven't finalized our materials and design plans. I can see my future: driving my wife all over Silicon Valley trying to find granite/marble/tile, and then finding nothing that is quite right. Gloom. Despair. And agony.
