The military has the alternative to drop a bomb on the vehicle before it reaches the destination. Police don't usually have that option. Police control our home grown terrorists/criminals while the military responds to national security threats. When would you use the military if not when innocent citizens have been incinerated by foreign terrorists? Don't tell me there's no connection between terrorists & Iraq. The connection was the strategy to make Iraq become the battleground that drew in al Qaeda--it worked. It's better to fight them on their own turf rather than in NYC, LA & WashDC.
