Ted, I give up! Go in ignorance. Don't give up. I'm sure you'll be able to convince your middle school students that the former Soviet Union wasn't a communism, and that America would do so much better if only they followed a European model of socialism. It's no wonder why our youth start out liberal and turn more conservative as they grow up. Some of them discover that what they learned in school and college is B.S. Tenchusatsu P.S. - While you're at it, you might also continue perpetuating the myth of Social Security that I was taught when I was in school, "The government takes part of your paycheck, saves it for you, then pays it back when you retire."
